Placed an order the other day for a load of car cleaning stuff.
e-mail received this morning.
Asked them for a rough estimate on time as simply ‘today’ is rather vague.
Got a reply.
It’s now 08:43 and the parcel is due between 12:04 and 13:04 (at least they didn’t tell me the delivery driver’s name like they usually do. What am I supposed to do with that information ? w ell I once used it. One parcel was due to be ‘d elivered by Darren’, so when he arrived I said, ‘Good morning Darren!, he looked at me like, ‘do I know you?’. I don’t need the driver’s name).
The driver was at delivery number 1, and I’m number 58 (he’s now at number 7).

He better not be. Getting a parcel of cleaning products is my christmas.
Getting it late is like having christmas day on Boxing day.

I have Svending questions : what do you recommend for a leather treatment? The Volvos front seats are trashed, but I think the rear is salvageable. Also, is there anything to treat the gaskets around the doors, trunk, sunroof, etc.?

When you say leather treatment, do you mean restorer, cleaner, sealant, etc...?
For door rubbers, gaskets, etc... I recommend a good cleaner sprayed onto a cloth and give the rubbers a good clean, then treat with Einszett Gummi Pflege.
I t restores the rubbers suppleness stopping them from cracking, also makes the rubber less absorbent to water, stopping your doors freezing shut in a very cold conditions.

For the door rubbers, etc. that’s exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Regarding the leather, um, yes, I think that’s what I want. I guess it would be easier if I had pictures, which I can try to take tonight. Long story short the front seats are totally trashed, like pieces of leather missing, etc. They will be replaced. The back seats have some wear marks & scratches but no obvious cracks or rips. I just want to clean them up and protect them for the future.

Gliptone and Renovo do some great cleaners that restore a lot of the leathers looks and feel, they also do great conditioners to keep the leather in top condition.
While some come with a boars hair brush to get into the grain, a detailing brush used in circular motions allows the cleaner to foam up a little and get right into the grain without risk of damage.
Before starting a leather treatment, always give the seats a good vacuum, gently teasing apart the leather around the stitching to get the crap that gets embedded, You may want to use a soft brush before vacuuming those areas too if you have stuff glued in.
What you don’t want is leaving any debris in here that will act as a cutting edge, tearing up the stitching, nor do you want to pull the leather too much apart around the stitching and risking it tearing, it’s quite a fine balance but easy to find.
